This Cookie Policy explains how Bookables uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website and use our online booking and field-service platform (the “Service”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
How we use cookies
We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. The cookies we use are ones that keep the Service running, ones that remember your preferences, and ones that tell us how the Service is used so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run advertising networks on our site, and we do not sell your data. The sections below describe each category.
Essential cookies
These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in or setting your privacy preferences. Without them, parts of the Service will not work.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* | Authentication and session management, set by our infrastructure provider Supabase to keep you securely signed in. | Essential | Session / up to the session lifetime |
Preference cookies
These cookies remember choices you make to give you a better experience, such as your selected theme. They are not strictly necessary, but they help the Service feel consistent between visits.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Remembers your light or dark mode preference so the interface loads the way you left it. | Preference | Persistent |
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how the Service is used, so we can improve it. We use a third-party product analytics provider, and it does set cookies. It records things like which pages are opened, which features are used and what happens in a session, along with an identifier for your browser so that activity can be joined up across visits. We use this to fix what is broken and decide what to build. We do not use it to build advertising profiles and we do not sell the data.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_*_posthog | Set by our product analytics provider. Holds an identifier for your browser, session details and feature settings, so your activity can be understood across pages and visits. | Analytics | Persistent, up to 12 months |
| __ph_opt_in_out_* | Records that analytics has been turned off for this browser, so we do not track it. Only set when analytics is switched off. | Analytics | Persistent |
Analytics is not needed for the Service to work. If you block or delete these cookies, everything will continue to function normally. Australian privacy law asks us to tell you what we collect and why, which is what this page does, rather than to put a consent banner in front of you, so we have not added one. If we ever start serving people in places that require consent before a non-essential cookie is set, we will ask before setting one and update this page.
Third-party cookies
Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies when those features are used. These include:
- Stripe — when you make a payment, Stripe may set cookies to process the transaction securely and to help prevent fraud.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — where enabled on sign-up and login, to tell humans and automated bots apart.
- Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set cookies as part of that sign-in.
These cookies are controlled by the relevant third party, and their use is governed by that party’s own privacy and cookie policies.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, manage and delete cookies through their settings. You can usually set your browser to block or alert you to cookies, but if you block essential cookies, parts of the Service may not work, and you may not be able to stay signed in. Blocking or clearing the analytics cookies above has no effect on how the Service works, and most browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards everything when you close it.
