We went through the pricing every trade on Bookables actually uses and found we were asking vendors to name a pricing model rather than to say how they charge. Those are not the same question. You now say how you charge, in your own terms, and the customer is only ever shown that shape.
- Rates that match the work. By the person, by the hour, by the day, by the unit, by the cubic metre. A skip hire and a yoga class no longer have to pretend to be the same thing.
- Call-outs and crews. A trade can quote a call-out fee, and a job that sends two pairs of hands can charge for both.
- Travel that is actually charged. A territory travel surcharge now reaches the total, stays there, and is never repriced as if it were the work when a booking moves.
- Add-ons counted in their own units. A per-hour add-on is counted in hours, a per-day add-on is charged for every day, and an add-on that takes time adds its minutes to the booking's length.
- Extras per unit of hire. Hire an extra week and the per-unit extras go up with it, and are recounted when the length changes.
- Ask the customer the right question. How many people, which size, which extras, asked per line, with the price moving while they are still deciding.
A dozen or so quiet ways a total could come out wrong were closed at the same time. Nothing is added twice, nothing walks between the summary and the bill.
