A quote is rarely handed over in silence. You say which option you would go for, or that the price holds until Friday. A run of smaller changes has made the whole document behave the way you would expect it to.
- A covering note when you send it. Write a sentence and it goes at the top of the email your customer opens. It belongs to that send, not to the document, so resending with a different sentence does not rewrite the quote.
- Extras belong to the service they were added to. An add on is now tied to its line rather than being a loose item on the document, so removing the service removes its extras with it, and each one carries the extra time it adds to the job.
- A price you set by hand stays set. Change the customer or the property afterwards and your figure survives instead of being quietly recalculated.
- The booking matches the quote. Accepting a proposal now sizes the job from the lines on it, so a three hour quote does not turn into a one hour booking.
- The history is recorded by the database. Every step a proposal goes through is logged where it happens, so the trail is complete whether it moved from the app, an email link or somewhere else.
