Editing had grown three or four different shapes: a panel here, a sheet there, a row that turned into a form if you clicked the right part of it. None of them behaved the same way, and one of them would quietly drop what you had typed. Editing is now one thing, and it is the same thing everywhere.
- The editor takes the screen. Whatever you are changing, it opens full screen, on its own, with the page it belongs to named in the title bar and the thing you are editing as the heading. Not a sheet with the page still shuffling behind it.
- Everywhere, not just settings. A product, a service, your public page and every business setting all open the same way. There is no longer one kind of editing for settings and another kind for the catalogue.
- One way out. An X to leave and a Save to commit, sized so you can tell which is which. Nothing closes itself out from under you.
- It will not let you lose work. Leaving with unsaved changes asks first, including when you use the browser's own back button, which used to walk straight past the guard.
- Everything that is not the main action has one home. Delete, duplicate, and the rest sit in one place rather than being scattered around the form looking like fields.
- Forms that stopped explaining themselves. No cards nested inside cards, no paragraph above a field repeating what the field is called, and a section heading is now the label rather than a label sitting under a heading that says the same word.
- Fields that say what they want. A home base has to be picked from the map rather than typed at, and now says so instead of failing quietly when you type it.
- Two devices stop fighting. A save sends only the fields you actually changed, so editing on your phone no longer overwrites what you did on your laptop a minute ago.
