Reply to customers

Every chat with a customer, your team or Bookables is in Messages, under Today. Pick a chat on the left, write in the box at the bottom and send. Customers see your messages as coming from your business, not from you by name.

Reply to a message

  1. Open Messages

Choose Today in the menu, then Messages. Or choose All messages on the Today screen.

  2. Pick the chat

A dot means it's unread. A chat about a booking shows that booking at the top, with its reference and status.

  3. Write and send

Type in Write a message. Use the paperclip to add a photo or file.

To answer one message in particular, open Message actions on it and choose Reply. You can also react to a message.

Start a chat

  • About a booking, job or enquiry: open it and choose Message. The chat is about that booking, so everyone in it can see which one.
  • With anyone: in Messages, choose New message, pick one person or several, and send. A group can have a name.
  • With Bookables: choose Message us at the bottom of any help page.

Who's in a chat

Choose People at the top of a chat to see who's in it. You can add team members there. The owner and managers can also add or remove the customer; before they're added, you're told they'll see the earlier messages.

The owner and managers see every chat with a customer in it, so nobody goes unanswered. Team members see the chats they're in.

When a customer is waiting

A chat waits on you when the customer's message is the newest. The count shows on the Today icon and as a row under Needs you.

If a message stays unread for 5 minutes, the person it's for gets one email with a preview and a link back to the chat.
