A fortnight of cover held as real dated visits, the routine on the spaniel rather than in a message thread, and the invoice settled before the flight home.
Online booking
Owners choose the days they are gone and the shape of cover, and the price follows the number of nights rather than an estimate in your head.

Morning feeds and evening feeds on the same day, the hours between them closed off, and a late key moved with a drag.
Learn moreEvery block of cover on one month, so you can see which weeks have already gone before you answer the next message about them.
A stay is priced by how long it runs, so a long weekend and three weeks away are the same service at the right money.
The same fortnight priced three ways on one document, so the client is choosing the cover rather than negotiating the price.
The once-a-day round, the twice-a-day round and staying over on one estimate, with your recommendation marked. Options come with Pro.
Each line carries its own count and rate, so seventeen nights and two introductions add up in front of them rather than in your head.
They accept online with no account and no app, and the version they accepted becomes the booking with its lines already on it.
A feeding round is not a working day with jobs in it. It is two short bursts at either end, and the timeline is built to show that.
Set the mornings and evenings you actually work and the hours between are hatched out, so nothing lands in the middle of the day.
A key that will not turn, or a flight that lands late, moves one visit to a new time without disturbing the rest of the block.
The database refuses an overlap on one sitter outright, so the seven o’clock feed can only ever belong to one address.
Being full over Christmas need not read as a closed door. The page takes their dates as an enquiry and leaves you to answer it.
The enquiry arrives as a card in a thread with the dates on it, sitting beside everything else that client has ever said to you.
Accepting turns it into a real booking there and then. Declining closes it politely, and either way the thread stays on the record.
The families you had to turn away are still sitting there in February, which is the list next Christmas quietly fills from.
Hi, we are away for the first two weeks of January. Anything left at all?
Built for the round
A half-hour visit with its own duration and price, holding a genuine time on a genuine date rather than a line in a message thread.
Morning and evening drop-ins booked as two entries on one day, because they are two journeys and two separate pieces of your time.
A run of nights in the client’s home, priced by how many, sitting on the diary as a block that nothing else can be booked across.
The two weeks the whole trade is full, laid out night by night, so the third family asking is answered before you promise it twice.
Three or four nights quoted in one go, usually the first booking a new client makes and the one that becomes the August block.
A short introduction new clients book from your page, with the confirmation email you switch on doing the professional part before you arrive.
The diabetic cat, the elderly labrador on anti-inflammatories, the tablet in a bit of cheese: dose and timing live on that animal.
Rabbit, guinea pig and tank cover priced as its own short visit, so twenty minutes of hay and water is not folded into a dog walk.
A midday break for a new pup while the owners are at work, held as a standing weekday arrangement instead of re-typed every week.
Each pet is filed against its owner with its own address, and the feeding amounts, the medication and the vet go in the notes underneath.
Whoever takes the overflow gets their own hours and their own patch, and reads the same file on the same animals that you do.
Every feed is its own dated entry, so a block is something you can count rather than something you have to remember.
Last summer, last Christmas and what each block came to, on one record, so this year's fortnight takes a minute to price and send.
Send the request on the last night and it tends to be paid from an airport, long before anyone thinks to find you in person.
The payment request is a signed link to that booking and nothing else. They open it, they pay, and the receipt, once switched on, sees itself out.
Record what was left on the side or what landed in the bank, by hand, on the Free plan. Cards are the part that needs Pro.
Card money lands in your own Stripe account and is paid out to your bank. We do not hold it anywhere on the way through.
A feeding round only works if the houses sit close together. Claim the areas you cover and the page turns the rest away.
Claim your areas from the official boundaries rather than drawing a shape, and every address is matched against them first.
Staying over can be left out of the areas you would only ever drive to for a morning feed, without hiding the drop-ins there.
Each sitter carries the areas they serve, so the far end of the round is only offered to whoever can actually get there.

As a visit per day. Each feed is its own dated booking with its own time, so the whole stretch of cover is something you can count rather than something you are carrying about.
On the animal. A pet is a record in its own right under the client, with its own address, and the amounts, the medication, the vet and who holds the spare key sit in the notes underneath.
For boarding, yes: your local authority licenses boarding cats, boarding dogs in kennels, home boarding dogs in your own house, and dog day care, under the 2018 animal activities licensing regulations. Sitting in the client’s own home is outside it, and the statutory guidance says so outright, naming dog sitters as not needing a licence. The rules differ in Wales and Scotland, so ask your council.
Your page stops offering nights it does not have and takes the dates as an enquiry instead. It arrives as a card in a thread you accept or decline, so the families you turned away are still there in February.
Yes. Days are a real pricing driver, so a stay is priced by how long it runs. A bank-holiday weekend and three weeks away are the same service at the right money.
Yes. The Free plan covers 200 bookings a month with no card required, and cash or bank transfers you record by hand cost nothing. Cards are the part that needs Pro.
