Most portrait money turns up after the shoot, once they have seen what you made. That part is a quote and a link, not a second booking.

Whatever you sell after a sitting goes out itemised, opened by them and accepted by typing their name, with the date it was viewed on your side.
A link for the balance
A payment request carries its own signed link, so the balance sees itself out without an account, an app or a conversation about bank details.
The photographs stay yours
Bookables never touches the images. It holds the booking, the quote and the money, and leaves delivering the work to whatever you use already.

Common questions.
They can. Each sitting carries its length and its price on your page, only the times you genuinely have free are offered, and the booking arrives on your calendar. Anything unusual comes through as a request.
It does not, and it says so rather than implying otherwise. There are no galleries, no proofing and no print ordering here. Keep whatever you use for that; this holds the booking, the record and the money.
As an itemised quote they accept online by typing their name, or as a payment request carrying its own link. Both happen once the shoot is done, which is when the decision is genuinely made.
This is the case it handles best. Set the sitting short, open the single Saturday, and the slots fill one after another until the day has gone. Nothing is offered twice.
Then it should not be a booking yet. The parents send a request with the due date and what they have in mind, it arrives as a card to accept or decline, and the date is agreed later.
