Setting up your business
Your business name, where you work from, your units, currency and tax.
Before you add services or share your booking page, it is worth spending five minutes on your business details. These settings shape how Bookables schedules your jobs, what your prices look like, and how your booking page is branded.
You will find everything below in Settings, which lives in the menu under your business name in the top corner of the app.
Your business name
This is the name your business is known by across Bookables, including on your booking page and in the emails and texts your customers receive. Open Settings and update the Business name block if you want to change it.
Home base
Your home base is the address your crew starts and ends the day from. Bookables uses it to plan routes and work out travel time, so the slots you offer customers are realistic.
Open the Home base block, start typing your address, and pick it from the list so it is pinned to the right spot on the map.
Tip: If you work from home, that is fine. Your home base is only used for scheduling and travel planning, it is never shown to customers.
Units and currency
The Localisation block sets the units and currency used across Bookables:
- Currency, used for all prices, estimates and payments.
- Time zone, so your schedule and available slots line up with your actual day.
- Distance, speed and temperature units.
Set these once and the whole app follows them.
Tax
If you charge tax, open the Tax block to turn it on, set your rate, and give it a name: GST, VAT, Sales Tax, whichever your customers and your accountant expect. That name is what appears on your proposals and invoices.
If you do not charge tax, leave it switched off and Bookables never mentions it. See Tax.
Your logo and appearance
Add your logo from the logo panel on the Settings page. It is used to brand your account and can be carried through to your booking page.
The Appearance block controls how the app itself looks for you.
What is next
With the basics in place, you are ready to give customers something to book.
Next: Adding your first service.
